1. it starts hard, requiring the starter to work real hard to build up compression enough to fire. when it fires a huge cloud of mostly white smoke comes out. enen when the engine is warm its a little reluctant.
2. intermittent idle: when i come to a traffic light or what have you the idle surges cyclically and then dies. if i keep the accelarator pedal down a bit its fine.
3. finally, the engine burns a ton of oil and smokes white all the time.
it runs fine on the hwy, but for a little less power than the other engine seemed to have.
the head, to remind those of you that follow my continuing saga, is the same rebuilt twice head from the old motor. there is a slight leak from one of the injectors.
i love nissan diesels and i want to keep this thing on the road.
