heater core location

I was working on repositiong the cb radio and did a little bit of electrical work, while putting the kick panel back on i felt a warm/hot part. It was made out of plastic and was positioned right in front of the firewall and right above the kick panel, and to the left of the recycle intake/fan for the hvac system. Would this be the heater core?

The heater core is located about just forward of the radio. The A/C condensor is to the right, then the heater fan housing. I replaced a heater core on on of my Maxi's about five years ago. I took a parts car (cadaver) apart to see the process before performing surgery on my car. If you read the FSM the process involves removing the front seats, carpet, center console and complete dash assembly to access the heater core housing.

Interesting . . . I pulled the A/C evap housing quite easily (I had a bad TXV two years ago). Another reason to keep up on the cooling system maintenance.
